For variation, you could also sprinkle the bananas with finely chopped nuts or shredded coconut instead of the crushed cookies. If you don’t have a small banana, use one large one, cut it into quarters, and double the amount of the other ingredients to make 4 servings. Plan to share the additional pops with family or to keep a few extra in the freezer to enjoy whenever a sweet craving may strike. They’ll keep for up to a week. You can use either wooden craft sticks or wooden skewers to insert into the ends of the bananas.

Banana

1 small, peeled and cut in half crosswise

Hazelnut and chocolate spread

Instructions

  1. Put wafer cookies into small plastic bag and crush into crumbs with rolling pin or meat pounder. Spread crumbs on sheet of wax paper.
  2. Spread each banana half with 1/2 teaspoon hazelnut-chocolate spread. Roll in crumbs to coat. Insert wooden stick into cut end of each banana half. Wrap separately in foil and freeze at least 3 hours or up to overnight.
  3. Serving size: 1 pop
