Our savoury low-POINTS brownies are a chocolate-lover's dream. Powdered sugar adds the perfect hint of sweet decadence.

Ingredients

Cooking spray

1 spray(s)

Packed light brown sugar

2 cup(s), (480 ml)

Sugar

½ tbsp(s), (120 ml) granulated

Light butter

3 tbsp(s), (45 ml) melted

Vanilla extract

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Liquid egg substitute

1½ cup(s), (360 ml) liquid

All-purpose flour

2 cup(s), (500 ml)

Unsweetened cocoa powder

½ cup(s)

Baking powder

1 tsp(s), (5 ml)

Table salt

¼ tsp(s), (1 ml)

Powdered sugar (confectioner's)

2 tbsp(s), (30 ml)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Coat a 9x13 inch baking pan with cooking spray.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine brown sugar, granulated sugar and butter. Beat until blended. Beat in vanilla. Beat in egg substitute. Sift in fl our, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Beat on low speed until blended.
  3. Pour mixture into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes, until a wooden pick inserted in centre of cake comes out clean. Cool in pan on a wire rack.
  4. Cut into 24 squares and sift confectioners’ sugar over cake just before serving.
