This Asian-influenced salad gets some of its flavour from tamari—a brownish-sauce made from soybeans.

Ingredients

Lump crabmeat

1 pound(s)

Uncooked carrot(s)

2 medium, julienned

Uncooked red onion(s)

1 small, julienned

Snow peas

2 cup(s), julienned

Rice wine vinegar

3 tbsp(s)

Green mango(es)

2 medium, julienned

Sesame oil

2 tsp(s)

Tamari sauce

3 tbsp(s)

Instructions

  1. Pick over crabmeat for shells; set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, stir together carrots, mangoes, onion and snow peas. Sprinkle with oil, vinegar and tamari; toss well.
  3. Divide salad mixture among 4 plates. Top with crabmeat and serve. Yields about 2 1/4 cups per serving.

Notes

If you can't find green mangoes at your grocery store, check at an Asian or Indian specialty market.
