To make burgers, pulse shrimp in food processor until coarsely chopped (can also be done by hand).

Combine all other burger ingredients (except pita) in a large bowl; gently fold in shrimp until combined. Shape into four even 1.25-cm (1/2-inch) thick patties; cover and chill for 30 minutes to overnight to set.

To make slaw, combine mayonnaise, wasabi, lime juice, oil, ginger and garlic in a large bowl; keep chilled (may be made up to 1 day ahead). When ready to serve, combine dressing with remaining slaw ingredients.

Off heat, coat a grill or grill pan with cooking spray; heat over medium heat. Grill burgers until firm and pink throughout, 8-9 minutes per side.

To assemble burgers, place one burger in each pita half and fill with 75 ml (1/3 cup) slaw; garnish with cilantro and serve immediately.
