How does metformin work?

The exact mechanism for how metformin works for weight loss is still being researched, but it may be a result of the drug’s impact on how your body absorbs carbohydrates and handles glucose. As a result, most patients report a slight reduction in appetite and cravings. This helps them eat fewer calories overall, which leads to weight loss.

Is metformin covered by insurance?

The cost of the medication is included as part of the WeightWatchers Clinic membership, making it a great option for people whose insurance does not cover the cost of other weight-management medications.
