Grammy award-winning gospel singer and actor Tamela Mann, 52, joined the WW family in spring 2019 as a WW Ambassador. Her goal: To develop healthier habits and lose weight for herself and her family, which includes five kids and eight grandchildren. Joining her on the journey to wellness is her daughter Tiffany Mann, 31.

WW: Be honest—how do you like following the WW program together?
Tamela: It’s nice to have a family member who’s like-minded on this journey! We both have goals we’re trying to reach.
Tiffany: Mama has always led by example—she’s a great wife and mother, and an incredible performer. I’ve found myself looking to her to learn how to take better care of my body because she’s taken off! She is doing so good!
Tamela: I’m 12 pounds lighter.*
Tiffany: I'm trying to keep up with her! I do feel like I can breathe better since joining WW. I’m feeling like my body can do more.
You’re both using the WW App. What's your favorite feature and why?
Tamela: Connect—I like the access I have to other members. You can interact with people who are on the journey, and it’s very encouraging.
Tiffany: I like WellnessWins! I get to see my progress right there in plain sight. Every day it makes me feel like a champion.
What's your most tracked food so far?
Tamela: Turkey sandwiches. Now when I have one, I’ve learned to cut it in half to make it into two meals.
Tiffany: Mine is eggs. I didn't realize that I eat so many eggs! For breakfast, I like roasted kale with an over-medium egg, and cottage cheese.
Tamela: I have eggs too—with toast and bacon. I’m beginning to eat the eggs without cheese to save SmartPoints.

Tamela: Fruit. There’s a wide variety of fruit [on the ZeroPoint foods list]—I love that.
Tiffany: The little baby red, yellow, and orange peppers. They are so good! I hadn't ever eaten them until joining WW.
What’s the one thing you think all new members need to know about WW when they begin?
Tiffany: That WW is freeing from those "no this” and “no that" diets. You become more aware of what you put in your body, but you don't feel like you're in food jail.
Tamela: It’s not a diet—it’s a lifestyle change.
