How to stay positive and in control during uncertain times
Having a down day? You're not alone. Your WW family is here for you, and they've got some great tips about positive thinking and staying in control.

Weekly topic: What you can (and can't) control right now
In amongst all the uncertainty, it’s totally normal to not feel positive 100% of the time.
Whilst you can't control the outside world and what you see in the news, there are plenty of other things that you can control. Big or small, these are the things you can do every day, to help lift your mood and put you back in the driver's seat.
Watch the video below to hear members of your WW family explaining how they're staying positive and in control.
Feeling inspired? Here are five ways to shift your mindset and take control of your inside world.
1. Use the WW app
We make so many decisions each day - what to eat, whether to go for a walk, what to watch on TV... The WW app guides you towards healthier decisions, which can stack up to longer-term healthy habits that support your weight loss and wellbeing goals. With all the tools you need to succeed, including Virtual Workshops and mini Headspace meditations, consider the WW app your daily source of support and inspiration.
2. Start your day right
We’ve all heard the expression 'waking up on the wrong side of the bed'. Waking up in a bad mood often sets you up for a bad day, so take steps to avoid this where you can. To get your morning off to the best possible start, preparation the night before is key. Whether it’s cleaning your kitchen surfaces or laying out your clothes for the next day, it’s the small things that will make your morning not only more productive, but also more cheerful.

3. Check in with a WW Coach
During these challenging times, you may want to lean on our expert WW Coaches a little more than usual to maintain the healthy habits you've worked so hard to build. You can chat with a Coach 24/7 in the WW app, and join as many Virtual Workshops as you like throughout the week. If you need some inspiration, get virtually connected to a Coach and fellow WW members to learn new techniques, celebrate your successes and share how you're feeling.
4. Challenge negative thinking
It’s easy to think about the things you can’t currently do and have no control over, so we have a challenge for you. Every time one of these thoughts materialises, twist it around and turn it into something you can do! For example, instead of feeling down about how you can't see your friend, give them a call or schedule a virtual catch-up. You'll soon see how much better a 'can-do' attitude can make you feel.

5. Exercise regularly
It’s important to keep active as much as you can. Whether it’s running around after the kids in the garden or joining an online fitness class, getting active can lift your mood (find out more about the link between exercise and mental health). Start slow if needs be - it's not a race or competition. There are plenty of low-intensity workouts in the WW app that can get you off to a great start. Build up the momentum and make the habit change last beyond lockdown.
Together, we are WW.
The most important thing to remember is that you're not alone in this. There is light at the end of the tunnel. Turn not only to your friends and family, but also to the online WW community for support. Together, we are family. We are WW.
