Make your resolution public by sharing it on Connect, Instagram or with your friends, family or fellow members. It’ll keep you accountable, so you’ll be more likely to follow through.
Use positive self-talk to help banish negative thoughts. Any time you catch yourself thinking negatively, replace those thoughts with a positive affirmation such as: ‘I can do it, I am doing it, and soon I will have done it!’
Visualise your success. What will it look like? It might help to create a mood board using positive pictures and words that describe how you’d feel if you stuck to or achieved your resolution. It’s a great way to help you visualise your resolution becoming a reality.
See drawbacks as stepping stones. If you stumble at an obstacle, identify what went wrong and say: ‘I’ve learned from this and now I’m moving on.’
Remember that you’re the master of your own fate. If you keep trying and don’t give up, then eventually you will achieve whatever it is you’re aiming for. Almost any goal or resolution, barring physical impossibility, is achievable once you realise that!
