3 ways to make time for yourself

Feeling frazzled? Take time out with our tips on how to make the most of your me-time.
Get stuck into a book

If you find sitting down to read a good story relaxing, it’s no surprise. Reading a book isn’t just a great way to switch off from the world – research also shows that reading for as little as six minutes could help to reduce stress levels by up to 60 per cent, which could also slow your heart rate and ease muscle tension.

Soak in the bath

There’s nothing better than a good pampering session. For the ultimate bath-time relaxation, fill your tub with scented bubbles, light a candle, and hit ‘play’ on your chill-out playlist. Use the time to meditate, read, or simply relax – whatever helps you to feel  calmer.

Reflect

Journaling can be an effective way to make sense of your daily stresses. Find a notebook you love and spend a few minutes each day jotting down your thoughts – whether you need space to rant after a bad day or want to fill a page with things you’re grateful for, it’s a great way to let go of your emotions.
