I’ve been heavy for almost my whole life, but after I gave birth to my son in 2008 I reached the heaviest weight I have ever been. I also started to have hip and knee pain. I decided to give Weight Watchers a try because I knew the Program worked, and I wasn't willing to give up the foods I love. Fortunately, PointsPlus® has taught me that I need to eat to live, not live to eat. The Program has helped me to change my relationship with food forever.

Exercising and gaining control

After joining Weight Watchers meetings and following the Program, I reached my goal weight in May 2011. I rewarded myself by purchasing a gym membership. I figured it was the best way to keep the weight off and help maintain my weight loss. My son, who is now three-years-old, has truly been my motivation to stay with the plan. I never thought I’d be able to keep up with him at the park, but after losing weight on PointsPlus, now I can. I’m happier and have more energy than ever, and I can’t believe my confidence. Weight Watchers PointsPlus has not only given me control over food, but allows me to eat what I want. I can even still eat Cuban food. People ask me how I lost all the weight and I when I tell them that it was with Weight Watchers they are often curious and ask questions about how it works. This shows me that my weight loss might encourage others to lose weight as well.

Maintaining the change

When I started following the Program in April 2010 I weighed 225 pounds, and reached my goal weight of 150 pounds just a little more than one year later in May 2011. Now I’m down to 144 pounds. My breakthrough came when I realized I could not live without Weight Watchers in my life. I knew I would be successful when I was able to make Lifetime Membership.

Seeing the world differently

My favorite thing about Weight Watchers PointsPlus is the meetings, and my incredible Leader, Kathleen. She keeps me motivated to stick with the Program, and I don’t think I could have reached this level of success without her. Overall, Weight Watchers has made me a healthier person. I choose better foods and make better choices. I look at the world a lot differently than I did when I was more than 80 pounds* heavier; now I see all the possibilities. I even got a new job and rode a mechanical bull! I believe the world has so much to offer me, and I believe I can live my life exactly how I want. I absolutely love the new attitude I have towards myself. I no longer feel as though I don’t fit in or belong among my peers. I love the new me.
