This recipe was created for our WW Live Cooking @ Home event with Shellie.

Ingredients

Egg(s)

1 medium

Panko breadcrumbs

¼ cup(s), (15g)

Sesame seeds

2 tbs

Garlic powder or flakes

½ tsp, (powder)

Firm tofu

300 g

Olive oil

2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Combine egg and 1 tablespoon tap water in a shallow dish.
  2. Combine Panko crumbs, sesame seeds and garlic powder in a second shallow dish. Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Remove tofu from container and drain liquid. Pat down firmly with paper towel to release any brine. Cut into 8 slices. Coat one piece of tofu at a time in egg wash then panko crumbs. Set aside.
  4. Heat olive oil in a non-stick frying pan over medium high heat. Cook the crumbed tofu for 3-4 minutes on each side or until browned and crunchy.

Notes

TIP: For extra spice add 1/8 tsp chilli flakes to panko crumb mixture.
