Milano pasta sauce is simple yet delicious! With onion, garlic and parmesan, it gives the authentic rustic flavours of an Italian dish.
Extra lean beef sausage
1 large, thinly sliced
2 clove(s), crushed
2 cup(s), (500ml)
Grated parmesan cheese
⅓ cup(s), (25g)
- Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water, following packet instructions, or until just tender. Drain. Return pasta to pan.
- Meanwhile, remove and discard sausage casings. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook sausage mince, onion and garlic, stirring to break up lumps, for 7 minutes or until browned. Add passata and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until sauce has thickened.
- Add passata mixture and cream to pasta. Toss gently to combine. Serve sprinkled with parmesan.
SERVING SUGGESTION: Mixed salad leaves, drizzled with lemon juice.TIP: You can use lean pork and fennel or pork and chilli sausages instead of beef sausages.
