Milano pasta sauce is simple yet delicious! With onion, garlic and parmesan, it gives the authentic rustic flavours of an Italian dish.

Ingredients

Dry pasta

250 g

Extra lean beef sausage

280 g

Olive oil

1 tbs

Brown onion

1 large, thinly sliced

Garlic

2 clove(s), crushed

Tomato passata

2 cup(s), (500ml)

Light cream

2 tbs

Grated parmesan cheese

cup(s), (25g)

Instructions

  1. Cook pasta in a large saucepan of boiling salted water, following packet instructions, or until just tender. Drain. Return pasta to pan.
  2. Meanwhile, remove and discard sausage casings. Heat oil in a large non-stick frying pan over medium-high heat. Cook sausage mince, onion and garlic, stirring to break up lumps, for 7 minutes or until browned. Add passata and bring to the boil. Reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, for 5 minutes or until sauce has thickened.
  3. Add passata mixture and cream to pasta. Toss gently to combine. Serve sprinkled with parmesan.

Notes

SERVING SUGGESTION: Mixed salad leaves, drizzled with lemon juice.TIP: You can use lean pork and fennel or pork and chilli sausages instead of beef sausages.
