Peach and raisin porridge

Oats are a great source of fibre. Spending a few minutes making a bowl of porridge in the morning is a great way to start the day.

Ingredients

Skim milk

1½ cup(s), (375ml)

Rolled oats, dry

60 g, (¾ cup)

Halved dried peaches

2 piece(s), finely chopped (45g)

Raisins

1 tbs

Brown sugar

2 tsp

Fresh strawberries

250 g, washed, hulled, quartered

Instructions

  1. Combine 1 cup (250ml) of the milk, ½ cup (125ml) water, oats, peaches and raisins in a small saucepan. Bring to the boil. Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring, for 4–5 minutes or until thick and creamy.
  2. Mixed trough the diced peaches. Spoon porridge into serving dishes and sprinkle with sugar. Serve with remaining milk and strawberries.
