Kombucha is a slightly fizzy fermented tea. It contains probiotics and it’s something you can brew at home yourself.

Ingredients

kombucha

500 ml, ginger and turmeric variety

fresh ginger

1 tbs, (3cm piece of ginger), thinly sliced

red apple, unpeeled

1 medium, thinly sliced

lime(s)

1 medium, thinly sliced

diet ginger beer

3 glass(es), (750ml)

lime juice

1 tbs

Instructions

  1. Place kombucha, ginger, apple, lime slices, ginger beer and lime juice in a large jug. Stir to combine. Pour over ice in serving glasses.

Notes

TIPS: You can buy bottled kombucha ready-made at health food stores and supermarkets. Squeeze a little lemon juice over apple slices to prevent them from discolouring.
