Ingredients

Lean diced beef, raw

800 g, cut into 3cm pieces

Red onion

1 medium, chopped

Mushrooms

250 g, button variety, quartered

Celery

2 stick(s), sliced

Potato(es)

2 medium, (2 x 120g), cut into 3cm pieces

Carrot(s)

2 medium, cut into 3cm pieces

Canned diced tomatoes

1 400g can, (1 x 400g can)

Tomato paste

2 tbs

Balsamic vinegar

1 tbs

Worcestershire sauce

½ tbs

Beef stock cube

1 individual

Brown sugar

2 tsp

Curry powder

1 tsp

Dried oregano

1 tsp

Plain flour

2 tbs

Oil spray

1 x 3 second spray(s)

Instructions

  1. Lightly spray a 4.5-litre (18 cup) slow cooker with oil. Add flour and one third cup (80ml) cold water to a small bowl, stir quickly until a smooth paste forms. Add all ingredients to a 4.5 litre (18-cup) slow cooker. Season with salt and pepper. Cook, covered, on low for 7 hours and 30 minutes (or high for 4 hours), until beef is very tender.
