Grilled coffee-rubbed steak with salsa
1 tbs, finely ground
lean beef sirloin steak
630 g, (buy 700g) fat trimmed
3 large, firm-ripe, cored, finely chopped
⅓ cup(s), (50 g)
½ medium, finely chopped
2 tbs, chopped
1 individual, deseeded, finely chopped
1 x 3 second spray(s)
- Combine coffee, sugar, cumin and chipotle sauce in a small bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Rub coffee mixture over beef. Stand at room temperature for 15 minutes.
- Meanwhile, combine pear, cranberries, onion, coriander, juice and chilli in a medium bowl. Season with salt.
- Lightly spray a chargrill or barbecue with oil and heat over high heat. Cook beef for 3-4 minutes each side or until cooked to your liking. Transfer to a plate. Cover beef with foil and set aside to rest for 5 minutes before thickly slicing. Serve steak with salsa.
