Try this recipe to harness the sweetness of the dates to create a magnificent dessert.

Ingredients

No added sugar orange juice

1 cup(s), (250ml), strained, fresh juice

Honey

2 tbs

Cardamom

5 whole, pods bruised

Fresh dates

12 individual, pitted

Labne

95 g, (1/3 cup)

Walnuts

20 g, finely chopped

Pistachios

15 g, unsalted, finely chopped

Instructions

Place the juice, honey and cardamom in a small saucepan. Bring to the boil. Boil for 3 minutes or until syrup thickens slightly. Strain to remove the cardamom.

Divide the labne between the cavities in the dates. Divide the dates among serving plates. Spoon over the syrup and sprinkle with the nuts.
