Creamed silverbeet with garlic

A lovely way to liven up this popular green, silverbeet lends itself well to gutsy garlic creating a savoury richness that’s special enough for entertaining
reduced-fat evaporated milk
1 cup(s), 250ml
1 clove(s), crushed
500 g, (1 bunch/8 leaves), trimmed
- Bring evaporated milk to the boil in a large non-stick frying pan over high heat. Simmer, uncovered, for 2 minutes or until thickened slightly.
- Add garlic and cook for 30 seconds or until fragrant. Add silverbeet and cook, stirring, for 2–3 minutes or until just wilted. Serve sprinkled with nutmeg.
Add finely grated parmesan cheese if accompanying Italian dishes.
