Simple and easy to make, these are just right to enjoy with an afternoon cup of your favourite tea.

1 medium, lightly beaten
5 g, thinly sliced
- Preheat oven to 170˚C or 150˚C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper.
- Combine almond meal and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in egg whites until combined. Roll rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls (see tip). Place balls on prepared tray, allowing room for spreading. Flatten slightly. Top each with an almond slice and bake for 12 minutes or until golden. Set aside to cool on tray. Serve.
TIP: Store in an airtight container in a cool, dry place for up to 1 week.Lightly sprinkle your hands with water before shaping the mixture into balls so it is less likely to stick.
