Satisfy a craving for state fair fare with this lighter version of a typically deep-fried dessert. Our cheesecake bites have a crispy wonton shell and creamy, lightly sweetened filling made with cream cheese, yoghurt, and fresh strawberries. To prevent them from bursting, pay attention to the cooking process and stop the air fryer just when they turn golden brown.


Light cream cheese

cup(s), (80g) at room temperature

99% fat-free, plain Greek yoghurt, unsweetened

2 tbs

Vanilla essence

½ tsp

Icing sugar

2 tbs, plus 1/2 tsp extra for dusting

Fresh strawberries

¼ cup(s), (35g) finely chopped

Wonton wrapper(s)

12 individual

Oil spray

2 x 3 second spray(s)


  1. Combine cream cheese, yoghurt, vanilla and 2 tablespoons icing sugar in a small bowl. Fold through strawberries.
  2. Place a wonton wrapper onto a clean cutting board. Spoon 2 teaspoons of mixture into the centre, then brush some water around the edges. Bring opposite corners of the wrapper together to form a square. Squeeze together to seal. Repeat with remaining wonton wrappers and filling.
  3. Preheat an air fryer to 180°C. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with oil and arrange the cheesecake bites in a single layer. Lightly spray again with oil. Air-fry for 6-7 minutes, until golden brown and crisp. Sprinkle with remaining icing sugar to serve.
