Find an activity buddy

You know how chatting with a friend makes a long commute fly by? And tackling a work project with a team makes things more fun? (How about sharing your WW journey with a friend? That can pay off nicely!) We’re social beings, after all, so it makes sense that friendship and support are a huge help when it comes to activity, where encouragement from others can inspire you to move more.

Your buddy wish list

A buddy doesn’t have to be jogging alongside you; maybe you just want someone to cheer you on and encourage you from a distance. Nor does it have to be one single person. When you’re considering who to tap for support, consider not just what (or who!) works for you now but also what’s worked in the past. It’s different for everyone.

Find your fit

Before you choose who you’d like on your moving crew, ask yourself what kind of help would work best. You can find virtual support from Connect with Activity Groups on the WW app. If you want to max the socializing, think of ways to add activity to your relationships: Call a friend while you walk, or organize morning bike rides with your neighbours.

Just as you’re more likely to stick with activity if you enjoy what you’re doing, you’re more likely to stay inspired and engaged when you rely on a buddy system.
