6 tips to lower the Points® in your favourite drinks
Because some of your favourite beverages are friendlier on your Points® Budget than others.

Anyone else have “Points shock” when they first went to track their favourite drink? Us, too. That’s because lots of beverages can be loaded up with tons of sugar, sweeteners, and mystery ingredients.

Staying hydrated is pretty crucial to your body. Dehydration can lead to issues like headaches and can seriously impact your mood and concentration.
We don’t get the same feeling of being full from drinking as we do from eating since we’re not chewing. That means it’s unlikely to feel full from drinks with a higher Points value, like soda, fruit juice, and sports drinks.
Just like food, every drink has a Points value based on how it impacts our weight and health. Loading up on water and other sugarless drinks is a great way to keep an eye on your overall Budget.

Incorporate lower-Points drinks into your day-to-day with one or two of the tips below. Cheers!
Be mindful of what you put in your coffee or tea. Cream, milk, sweeteners, and syrups can impact the Points.
Focus on savvy swaps. Choose one lower-Points beverage (like unsweetened iced tea) to replace a higher option (such as soda).
It’s OK to think plain water is boring. Try adding raspberries, orange or cucumber slices, or fresh mint leaves to spice it up. Pro tip: Try a fruit infuser water bottle to up your hydration game.
Decide if higher-Points drinks are worth it to you. If your favourite smoothie or a glass of wine on a virtual happy hour makes your day, don’t ditch it. Wiggle things around so that it works in your daily or weekly Budget.
Take baby steps. Start scaling back on which drinks aren’t worth it to you by making a change at breakfast this week. Move to lunch next week.
