Dinner doesn’t have to take hours, instead just 15 minutes! In such a short time you can whip up a classic Japanese dish of seared tuna and noodles. The pickled ginger gives the whole dish that famous tart, spicy flavour tying all the components together.

Ingredients

Soba noodles, dry

160 g

Raw tuna

500 g, (4x 125g)

Dried nori seeweed

1 sheet(s)

Pickled ginger

40 g

Edamame beans

200 g

Reduced salt soy sauce

1 tbs

Sesame oil

2 tsp

Instructions

  1. Cook noodles in a medium saucepan of boiling water following packet instructions or until just tender. Drain, refresh under cold water and drain again.
  2. Meanwhile, heat a chargrill on medium-high. Cook tuna steaks for 1 minute each side or until just seared. Thinly slice.
  3. To assemble, place tuna over noodles on a serving platter along with nori sheet, ginger and steamed edamame beans.
  4. Combine soy sauce (or tamari) and sesame oil in a small bowl and drizzle over tuna.
