Moroccan-style smashed avo toast

Ingredients

avocado

1½ medium

lemon juice

1 tbs

garlic

1 clove(s), crushed

sourdough bread

120 g, (4 x 30g slices), toasted

pomegranate

2 tsp, seeds

middle eastern spice blend

1 tsp, ras el hanout variety

Instructions

  1. Cut three-quarters of the whole avocado into 12 slices. Place remaining avocado in a small bowl with juice and garlic. Mash with a fork, keeping some texture. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. Spread toast with mashed avocado and top with avocado slices. Serve scattered with pomegranate seeds and sprinkled with ras el hanout.

Notes

Ras el hanout is a North African spice blend. If unable to find, garam masala is a good substitute.
