Croque madame originated in France and has a ham and cheese bread base that is grilled. A fried egg is the finishing touch to this favourite breakfast loved by all.
160 g, sourdough
97% fat-free deli sliced ham
Extra light cheddar cheese
60 g, grated
125 g, halved
1 x 3 second spray(s)
- Preheat grill on high. Cook bread in toaster and spread with mustard. Place on a baking tray. Top with ham and sprinkle with cheese. Cook under grill for 2 minutes or until cheese melts.
- Meanwhile, lightly spray a large non-stick frying pan with oil and heat on medium-high. Crack eggs into pan and cook, covered, for 2 minutes or until whites have set but yolks are soft or to your liking.
- Place toast onto plates and top with eggs. Add rocket and tomato and season.
