Whether you’ve got guests for lunch or you’re packing a picnic, these gourmet rolls ooze taste and wow factor

Ingredients

Olive oil

1 tsp

Red onion

½ medium, thinly sliced

Whole grain bread roll

1 individual, (1 x 50g)

Avocado

1 tbs, mashed

Cos lettuce

5 g, (2 small leaves)

Tomato(es)

½ medium, thinly sliced

Deli-sliced roast beef

50 g, rare

Instructions

  1. Heat oil in a small non-stick frying pan over low heat. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 8–10 minutes or until very soft and caramelised.
  2. Cut roll in half and spread bottom half with avocado. Top with lettuce, tomato, beef and caramelised onion. Serve.

Notes

TIP: You can use 1 tablespoon of horseradish sauce instead of avocado.Rare roast beef is available from the deli counter of most supermarkets.
