Porridge with pear and almonds
Creamy oats only take a few minutes to cook but will help to satisfy your hunger for much of the morning.
Dry rolled oats
1½ cup(s), (150g)
2 cup(s), (500ml)
2 medium, (cored, sliced)
4 piece(s), (chopped)
- Place the oats in a small saucepan and add 1½ cups (375ml) water and 1½ cups (375ml) of the milk. Cook, stirring over a medium heat for 3–4 minutes or until soft and creamy.
- Spoon porridge into 4 bowls and sprinkle with brown sugar. Drizzle with remaining milk and top with pear slices and chopped almonds.
To stop the pear going brown when you cut it, either prepare it just before serving or place the slices in a small bowl of water with a few drops of lemon juice.
