With chargrilled capsicum and a sprinkling of pepper, these gourmet burgers will satisfy the whole family!

Ingredients

Frozen hot chips or fries, cooked without oil

400 g

Extra lean beef mince, raw

400 g

Pepper

2 tsp

Worcestershire sauce

1 tbs

Horseradish sauce

1 tbs

Extra light sour cream

¼ cup(s), (60g)

Multigrain bread roll

4 medium, split

Baby spinach

60 g

Tomato(es)

2 medium, thinly sliced

Roasted capsicum, not in oil

150 g, or chargrilled, thickly sliced

Oil spray

1 x 3 second spray(s)

Instructions

  1. Cook chips following packet instructions or until browned and crisp.
  2. Meanwhile, combine mince, pepper and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl. Using hands, shape mince mixture into four 2cm-thick patties. Lightly spray a large, non-stick frying pan with oil and heat over medium-high heat. Cook patties for 3-4 minutes on each side or until cooked through.
  3. Combine horseradish and sour cream in a small bowl. Place roll bases on serving plates. Spread with half the horseradish mixture. Layer with spinach, tomatoes, capsicum and patties. Top with remaining horseradish mixture, then sandwich with roll tops. Serve with chips.

Notes

SERVING SUGGESTION: Green mixed leaf salad. TIP: You can use Dijon or wholegrain mustard or 2 tablespoons finely chopped fresh chives instead of horseradish cream.
