This holiday twist on a Moscow mule replaces sugary ginger ale or ginger beer with ginger-flavoured kombucha. Not only is it lower in sugar, but it’s also just as fizzy, rich in probiotics, and packed with peppery ginger essence. The cocktail comes together in a flash, but if you’d like to get a head start, you can combine the vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice in a pitcher up to a day ahead. Wait until shortly before serving to add the kombucha so that it doesn’t lose its effervescence.

Ingredients

Kombucha

4 cup(s), (1L), ginger variety

No added sugar cranberry juice

1 cup(s)

Vodka

1½ cup(s), (375ml)

Lime juice

¼ cup(s), (60ml)

Fresh mint

¼ cup(s), leaves, 8 sprigs

Instructions

  1. Combine kombucha, vodka, cranberry juice, and lime juice in a 2L (4-cup) jug. Stir gently to combine. Serve over ice and garnish with mint sprigs. Note: a serving is ¾ cup (180ml).
