This nutty, chocolate granola is deliciously crunchy and cooked in just 30 minutes. Enjoy it with your morning yoghurt, or sprinkled over a bowl of nice cream for a super tasty treat.

Ingredients

Maple syrup

2 tbs

Canola oil

1½ tbs

Cocoa powder

1 tbs

Cardamom

¼ tsp, ground

Dry rolled oats

2 cup(s), (180g)

Sweetened puffed rice cereal

1 cup(s), (35g)

Pistachios

½ cup(s), (70g)

Oil spray

1 x 3 second spray(s)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 160°C. Lightly spray a large shallow-sided baking tray with oil. Whisk 2 tablespoons maple syrup, 1½ tablespoons canola oil, 1 tablespoon cocoa powder, ½ teaspoon salt and ¼ teaspoon ground cardamom in a large bowl. Add 2 cups (180g) rolled oats, 1 cup (35g) puffed rice cereal and ½ cup (70g) pistachio kernels. Stir to evenly coat in syrup mixture. Spread granola evenly over prepared tray. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove from oven and stir well. Bake for a further 10-15 minutes, until crisp and golden brown. Cool completely on tray, then transfer to a reusable container.

Notes

TIP: Granola will keep for up to 3 weeks.
