Ingredients
Canned plums in natural juice
825 g, reserving 1/2 cup juice
Olive oil
2 tsp
Brown onion
1 medium, finely chopped
Fresh ginger
2 tsp, grated
Ground cinnamon
½ tsp
Chinese five spice
½ tsp
Sambal oelek
1 tsp
Instructions

Drain plums, reserving ½ cup (125ml) juice. Chop plums, discarding stones. Heat oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Cook onion for 5 minutes or until softened. Add ginger, cinnamon, spice powder and sambal oelek. Cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add plums and reserved juice and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, for 20 minutes or until thick. Serve with chicken, fish or shellfish.
