Spruce up Chrissie mains with a flavour-packed sauce that will send you into a state of bliss.

Ingredients

Reduced-alcohol red wine

1 glass(es), (150ml)

No added sugar orange juice

100 ml

Cloves

5 whole

Natural sweetener

1 tsp

Ground cinnamon

¼ tsp, pinch

Cherries, pitted, frozen

2 cup(s), (300g)

Cornflour

1 tsp

Instructions

  1. Place the wine, orange juice, cloves, sweetener and cinnamon in a saucepan over medium heat. Bring to a simmer. Add the cherries. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  2. Strain the mixture into a jug. Remove and discard the cloves. Remove the cherries and set aside. Return the red wine mixture to the saucepan. Bring to a simmer over medium heat. Combine the cornflour and 1 tablespoon of water in a bowl. Stir into the sauce. Simmer for 2 minutes or until the sauce thickens slightly. Stir in the cherries. Season with salt and pepper.

SERVE WITH pork, duck, turkey or ham.
