You’ll never know that the secret ingredient in these deliciously savoury bliss balls is cannellini beans. We promise, you can’t taste them. They’re used as a base to bind the mixture together, and the bonus is that they give you a little bit of fibre too. When tasting these bad boys, you’ll feel like you’ve just bitten into cheese and vegemite on crackers, a delicious Aussie classic.

Ingredients

Canned cannellini beans, rinsed, drained

½ cup(s), (125g)

Light tasty cheese

100 g

Seasoning

1 tbs, bacon flavoured (optional)

Vegemite spread

1½ tsp

Plain crackers (jatz)

6 individual

Instructions

  1. Process 3 crackers in a food processor until completely ground. Set aside in a small bowl.
  2. Process cannellini beans in a food processor until roughly chopped. Add cheese, bacon seasoning (if using), vegemite and remaining crackers and pulse until mixture comes together. Season with pepper.
  3. Roll level tablespoons of mixture into reserved ground crackers and shape into 14 balls.

Notes

TIPS: If you can’t find bacon seasoning, you can leave it out. Put as much or as little vegemite as you like, depending on your personal preference. Store in a reusable container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
