Almond Macaroons

Simple and easy to make, these are just right to enjoy with an afternoon cup of your favourite tea.


Ingredients
Almond meal
1 cup(s), (120g)
Caster sugar
½ cup(s), (110g)
Egg white
1 medium, lightly beaten
Raw almonds
5 g, thinly sliced
Instructions

Preheat oven to 170˚C or 150˚C fan-forced. Line a baking tray with baking paper.

Combine almond meal and sugar in a large bowl. Stir in egg whites until combined. Roll rounded teaspoons of mixture into balls (see tip). Place balls on prepared tray, allowing room for spreading. Flatten slightly. Top each with an almond slice and bake for 12 minutes or until golden. Set aside to cool on tray. Serve.
