Tracking tip: Search for a specific restaurant’s menu item first; if it’s not in the database, track a similar dish from a different restaurant.

Points-saving hacks

  1. Start with a miso soup and sip on traditional matcha tea for just 1 Point per cup, to help you fill up.

  2. Ordering sushi? Be strategic about your dipping sauces. Soy sauce is your best bet, with zero Points per 2 tbs.

  3. Ask if your order comes with Japanese mayonnaise. If so, request for it to come on the side or substitute it for wasabi paste or teriyaki sauce to save 4 Points per tbs.

  4. Watch out for words like ‘tempura’, ‘karaage’ or ‘katsu’ - these signal battered or crumbed and deep fried foods. Rather than ordering a complete main like a katsu or tempura donburi or noodle bowl, ask for the protein element on it’s own - e.g. a chicken breast katsu fillet (10 Points) and fill up on zero Point appetisers and sides like sashimi and edamame.

  5. Order a side of steamed or stir-fried vegetables to feel extra satisfied.
