Weight Watchers: 40 years helping people lose weight
We are one part of a global organization of more than one million members, who came together weekly to support each other in living healthy lives. Since our founding in 1963, Weight Watchers has always believed in a lifestyle-oriented approach to weight management. Through our weekly meetings, we help people to lose weight by eating well and enjoying more active lifestyles.

meet mona adams our local area director
When Mona Adams, a Weight Watchers member in New York moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1966, she hoped to continue her weight loss success by attending a Weight Watchers meeting.
To her chagrin, there weren't any Weight Watchers meetings in Columbus. Mona spent the next year trying very hard to stay on the program. She joined with friends to share their weight loss experience, but it wasn't the same as going to Weight Watchers meetings with a trained leader to help her meet her special challenges.
During the summer of 1967, with the kids packed up for camp, Mona returned to New York, lived with her parents, and attended the local Weight Watchers meeting. By the end of the summer Mona had lost 35 pounds and was feeling great!
When she was approached by a Weight Watchers representative to purchase the Weight Watchers franchise for Franklin county, Mona was thrilled at the idea of bringing meetings back for all her friends in Columbus. In October of 1967 Mona opened the first Weight Watchers meeting in Columbus, Ohio. 16 members joined on that historical night in downtown Columbus. Today Weight Watchers of Central Ohio includes 28 counties in Ohio spanning the area from Dayton to Mansfield to Zanesville and to Athens. Over 150 meetings are held weekly throughout the franchise area. Weight Watchers of Central Ohio has remained a family business, Mona and all three of her children are executives active in the day-to-day operations of the business.

The Staff you meet in the Weight Watchers Meetings are all Weight Watchers members - just like you! Once you are on your way to your goal you can begin to work with our Training program for either a Leader or Receptionist in a Weight Watchers Meeting. And once you reach your goal you could get a permanent assignment to work a meeting in your selected position.
