Ingredients

  16 oz Bush's Chili beans - medium (pinto)   
  1 item(s) (medium) uncooked bell pepper(s), chopped   
1 clove(s) (medium) garlic clove(s), or a tbsp of mnced garlc - brown first, then add v   
  1 cup(s) (sliced) uncooked red onion(s), I like red onion, but yellow or white is fine. Als   
1 tsp chili powder, or to taste   
  10 oz canned tomatoes with green chilis, I like Rotel but any kind will do. They can be fa   
1/2 tsp cayenne pepper, or hot pepper sauce   
2 cup(s) water   
1 Tbsp Lawry's® Seasoned salt 25% less sodium, Salt to taste and any seasoned salt will do. If y   
16 oz Morningstar Farms® Veggie Grillers burger style recipe crumbles, Use cooking spray in the skillet to avoid sticking   

Instructions

  • Spray pan with cooking spray (not much moisture or oil in the crumbles); saute garlic and onion (careful not to burn), add crumbles and spices; once crumbles are browned, add tomatoes , beans, and water. Add salt and pepper to taste. I also add crushed red pepper. Note: I don't ever measure the spices; I just use to my taste. Freezes well. Enjoy!

Watch out for the red pepper flakes! I added just a few--along with 1/2 a tsp. of cayenne pepper--and nearly made the chili too hot for me to eat (and I like some spice on my food).
