I made these for the first time today. If you are not a fan of the taste of dark chocolate, then I would not suggest you make these. Since I am one, the strong taste of the Coco doesn't bother me. I added another tablespoon of sugar because I thought the batter was kind of bitter. I also added a handful of pecans. The brownies are very rich and thick. I did not have any trouble spreading the batter. The 20 minutes they suggest for baking is about right. These are very cake like.
