Very good, hearty and satisfying. I used Johnsonville Apple Chicken Sausage. I cut up 3 links (9 oz.) and sauteed them for about 10 min. in the bottom of my slow cooker lightly sprayed with canola oil spray. I used regular onion, and I didn't have converted rice so I didn't add my rice until about the last hour or so. When I tasted the soup, I felt it needed something so I threw in some ground cumin to taste and that did the trick. I was surprised how good this soup is!
