In order to spice this recipe up a bit, I added cumin, coriander, cayenne, jalapeño and habanero peppers, etc. I seasoned the turkey meat with the above seasonings while browning. I added corn, fresh and dry basil too. Very flavorful!
Overall, it's a satisfying meal but a bit bland if you follow the recipe exactly. Definitely needed more flavor - I added a lot more cumin and oregano, plus a bit more chili powder. I also added chopped celery for texture and flavor. I would have been happier with it if the recipe called it "soup" rather than "chili" because there was far too much liquid for me to consider it chili. I'd make it again, but with more seasoning and less chicken stock.
Good flavors, hearty dish
I will add more liquid when I make it again. It's more turkey and beans than a soup or a chili
This was very easy to prepare, but was underwhelmed with the flavor. Everyone added some salt to their bowl so it was a little better. Having read some other members post on what they added to make it more spicy and thick - I will try and make this again and will post another review. Has potential so I will definitely try it again.
