This recipe is easy and the end results in very tasty. It's the kind of recipe my husband does the potato slicing and cheese grating and I do the onion sauting and thickening and finishing up. I added an 8 ounce ham steak to the top and left off the cheese at the end, so no broiling. Because the potatoes are for four, my husband and I have potatoes au gratin tomorrow with our fish. Only thing I may do different next time, add a bit of paprkia for a little hint of heat. Loved it!
