I used 3 large fresh onions chopped and sliced two large boxes of mushrooms. I also cooked it over 5 hours. Excellent. As skeptical as I was, the meat was very tender. I served it over a small amount of quinoa with brown rice. I'll make it again.
I must have bought the wrong kind of chili sauce because it was VERY spicy! I think if I left it out it would be AMAZING! It was good, I'm just not a spicy person.
Although it was easy to make, I didn't care for this recipe. It was more on the sour side and gave me "agida." I haven't used canned mushrooms in years, and this recipe reminded me why. I'd rather have a lite beef stew made in a slow cooker.
Very tasty and delicious. Even my son loved it.
