Samantha lost 47 lbs*

People following the WeightWatchers weight-loss program can expect to lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. Samantha lost weight on a prior program and is continuing on WeightWatchers.

In Samantha’s words:
In high school, I remember noticing that I was taller and bigger than all my friends. That was tough to deal with during that time. Even though I didn’t like how I felt over the years, I didn’t do anything about it until my size 16 jeans no longer fit. That’s when I turned to WW. I signed up and I was on my way.

Eating with purpose

Changing habits
The first week on the program was trying because I was making a huge change in my life. I used to have fast food for breakfast and lunch, and pizza for dinner — with candy bars in between. I slowly started making the change from eating out of boredom to listening to my hunger signals. When I was at work, I’d get up and walk around the building instead of going to the vending machine in the breakroom for a snack.

Staying hydrated
I realized that drinking more water was integral to my success. Before, I drank everything but water — soda, coffee, sweet tea — but now my morning ritual is to drink a full 16-ounce bottle of water before I start my day. It’s good for my skin and it keeps me full. I even inspired others to start with the same morning ritual, and they love how they feel now, too!

A nutritional turning point
When I joined WW, the program was a game changer for me. The program taught me that all calories aren’t created equal: 100 calories of biscotti is not the same as 100 calories of chicken — one fills you up, and the other doesn’t.

How Samantha’s success with WW has improved her life

Becoming more active
I have three young boys, so you can imagine how much energy they have. Now, I’m the energetic mother that I’ve always wanted to be. I aim to get 10,000-15,000 steps per day — playing with them outside helps me up my step count. Plus, I love to walk — it’s so therapeutic.

Know your worth
Some moms feel like they can’t put themselves first. Society may say you’re being selfish if you take time for yourself. Sometimes, I’ll be home late because I need to go to the gym, or I’ll miss breakfast on Saturday mornings because I want to go for an 8-mile walk. But these “me-time” moments have helped me become the best version of myself — and now I can be the best for my family.
