1 Tbsp, nonpareil variety
- Preheat oven to 350°F. Lightly coat 2 holes of a nonstick standard muffin pan with nonstick cooking spray (or use cupcake liners).
- In a small bowl, whisk together cake mix, egg, water, and oil into a smooth batter. Evenly divide batter among prepared muffin holes. Bake until a toothpick inserted into the center of a cupcake comes out clean, 12 to 14 minutes. Allow to cool.
- Top each cooled cupcake with 1 1/2 tbsp whipped topping and 1/2 tbsp sprinkles.
