Ingredients

red wine

25 fl oz, (750-ml), such as Garnacha

low-calorie cranberry juice cocktail

1 cup(s)

pomegranate juice

1 cup(s)

orange-flavored liqueur

2 fl oz, (1/4 cup), such as Grand Marnier or Cointreau

clementine(s)

2 item(s), halved, thinly sliced into half-rounds

lemon(s)

1 medium, thinly sliced

cinnamon stick(s)

4 item(s), (3-inch)

star anise

1 Tbsp, (about 5)

lemon lime diet soda

1 cup(s)

pomegranate seeds

½ cup(s)

Instructions

  1. Combine wine, cranberry juice, pomegranate juice, Grand Marnier, clementines, lemon, cinnamon sticks and star anise in a pitcher. Chill for several hours to overnight so flavors can meld. When ready to serve, stir in soda; serve over ice and garnish with pomegranate seeds.
  2. Serving size: 1/2 cup sangria (plus ice)

Notes

DIY Fizz: Let guests top off their sangria with a splash of seltzer - the extra bubbles will lighten the drink.
