This is the world’s favorite pizza, perhaps for the sunny simplicity of its toppings: tomato sauce, mozzarella cheese, and herbs (the colors of the Italian flag).
Ingredients

pizza dough mix

10 oz, or 1 prebaked thin pizza crust

canned tomato sauce

¾ cup(s), fat-free

shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese

¼ cup(s)

olive oil

2 tsp

fresh parsley

1 Tbsp, flat-leaf, chopped

fresh oregano

½ Tbsp, or 1⁄2 teaspoon dried

basil

½ Tbsp, chopped, or 1⁄2 teaspoon dried

table salt

crushed red pepper flakes

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to the directions for the crust you are using.
  2. Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the crust; sprinkle with the cheese. Drizzle with the oil, then sprinkle with the parsley, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Bake until the cheese is bubbling, 10–15 minutes. Serve at once. Yields 1/4 pizza per serving.
