This recipe makes enough for a 3 pound brisket. Make a double or triple batch, and store the rest in an air-tight container and you'll be ready to barbecue or slow cook some brisket any time the mood strikes. These flavors all go together beautifully, but you could easily swap out any one that you might not like for another spice that you prefer.

Ingredients

Garlic powder

2 Tbsp

Smoked paprika

1½ Tbsp

Unpacked light brown sugar

1 Tbsp

Chipotle chili powder

1 tsp

Ground cumin

1 tsp

Dried oregano

1 tsp

Kosher salt

1 tsp

Instructions

  1. In small bowl, stir together all ingredients. Pat it all over on large cuts of meat such as brisket before cooking.
  2. Serving size: 1 1/4 Tbsp
