Clickety Click, December 2017
By Debbie Koenig
As we say goodbye to one year and hello to a new one, I’m going to squeeze in one last collection of interesting, fun, and inspiring reading. Happy New Year!
A visual reminder that BMI is a pretty meaningless number.
This body-positive marathon runner (!!!) shut down a jerk who criticized her weight in a way that made me stand up and cheer.
I don’t wear plus-size clothing anymore (thanks, Weight Watchers!), but if I did, man, would I be happy with the style options these days.
This is how I feel when I wear my big down coat. Only I doubt I could squeeze through those bars….
At first I was amused by this tale of bullying among dietitians—picturing dietitians as schoolyard bullies can’t help but be amusing. But really, I’m horrified.
Here’s some interesting new science: Exercise can change the molecular workings of fat—so even while you’re losing weight, working out can help improve your metabolic health.
If you watch this video of a parkour-crazy cat and don’t feel the need to share it with a dozen friends, I’ll eat my hat.
And finally, as we head into a new year, check out these folks who helped us to love our bodies in 2017.
