Tamworth Herald | WW UK
As lockdown measures begin to ease and with new Government advice encouraging the nation to improve their health and shed the pounds, WW is shining a light on Tamworth to makeover the town’s health and wellbeing in an exclusive partnership.
Research into the health of Staffordshire compiled by WW shows obesity is a significant risk for residents in the county, with two thirds of adults having excess weight. Around 27% of residents in Staffordshire are obese, with rates in Tamworth being above England’s average.
The recent lockdown measures haven’t helped, with half of people (51%) in Staffordshire and the surrounding areas admitting to putting on weight. However, as the UK begins a new normal, priorities in the region are clear; 51% want to lose weight and 41% want to exercise more.
