Unhealthy eating habits
Like a lot of people, life seems to be busy 24/7 and I’m always out and about. Part of my job is selling hair and beauty products to salons, and that involves lots of driving around. Being in the car much of the day, I often eat while on the go, and I used to turn to quick snacks or high-calorie sandwiches. My unhealthy eating habits meant I struggled with my weight throughout my 20s, and as my size went up, I felt more insecure.
I tried every diet going, but nothing seemed to stick and the pressure of working in the beauty industry certainly didn’t help. I even joined WW for a while, but my heart wasn’t in it back then and I stopped going to meetings. But when my mum Anita had a heart attack, I decided enough was enough; it was time to look after my health and wellbeing. I joined WW again and, although my weight loss has been slow, I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved. Mum and boyfriend Mark have been so inspired by my progress, they’re now following the programme too!
Finally in control
The programme fits around my life and I can still eat the foods I love without worrying about staying on track, even when I have to eat on the go. If I can, I’ll make a wrap filled with ZeroPoint™ foods, such as chicken, salmon, or tuna, and I’ll snack on fruit or Mini Light Babybel cheese. Otherwise, I’ll grab something ready-made, but healthy. I feel I’m finally in control when it comes to healthy eating, and feeling much better about myself.
We all have to eat while on the go sometimes, but thankfully that’s not a problem with WW. It’s a plan that fits around me and my life.
Thanks to the app, I can go for the healthiest choice possible. It’s a relief to know that I can eat the foods I love without worrying about staying on track.
I try to make my own packed lunches to keep the SmartPoints® down, but If I end up having to grab something from the shops, no problem! I just calculate the SmartPoints using the app.
The app is so easy to use – I use the barcode scanner if I can, or I’ll use the calculator to work out the SmartPoints.
